“Re-entry and Networking” Meeting
We organized a ” Re-entry and Networking” meeting on February 3, 2017 in Ankara for our Turkish alumni who completed their programs in the U.S.A. and returned to Turkey recently.
Prof. Ülkü Gürler, who is an alumna of Fulbright Visiting Student Researcher Program, shared invaluable information and her own experience on networking and how to give back to the communities our alumni are a part of. The participants worked in groups to generate ideas on the topics Prof. Gürler talked about.
Dr. Ümit Yazman, who is our Humphrey Program alumnus, gave a speech on the re-entry period, reverse culture shock and how best to overcome this period.
At the end of the meeting, our Executive Director Prof. Ersel Aydınlı hosted a reception. Among the guests were U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Mr. John Bass, members of our Commission Board, Turkish and American alumni and current American grantees in Ankara. This reception enabled our alumni and current grantees to get to know each other.
